Thank you for your interest in Local Power. Welcome to all the people who have registered on our website since newsletter #2. You can find a copy of all our newsletters on our website on the “what’s new” page.

Where are we up to?
We passed 600 people signed up to the Local Power website today. Thanks to everyone who has helped us to get the word out and offered advice and assistance in other ways.

Please have a look at our “links” and “what’s new” pages in our website when you get the chance. We have slowly been adding information and think we are building up a good solar and renewable energy information resource.

As at June 30 2007, Queensland had only 342 grid connected homes with PV solar (and another 930 off-grid homes with solar). With your enthusiasm and support, Local Power is hopeful that together we can make a huge impact increasing the renewable energy generated in Queensland and more importantly using it in our own homes. It may also allow us to catch up to the southern states. If you are interested in the national stats you can read more detail here.

What's next?
We are planning to go to the industry to get indicative pricing for various sized systems shortly. Like all good things it has taken us a bit longer to get here than we would have liked, but as we are all volunteers, we trust you will bear with us.

Please continue to email and talk with your family, friends, neighbours and colleagues about your interest in solar power. This has been the most effective way to get the word out. For those of you who like to walk in your neighborhood outside of 4101, Local Power still has some fliers available which you can distribute in your suburb (while stocks last).

As we mentioned previously, once we have some indicative pricing, we will also hold a public meeting for anyone interested. This meeting will outline how PV solar electricity works, the buying group process going forward as we see it, and also to answer any questions which may arise as a result of that meeting.

If you have any questions, please email us and we will try and answer them individually the best we can.

That's all for now.  Thanks again for your interest and support.

regards,
The Local Power team
