Hi.

Thank you for your interest in Local Power. Here is a quick update:

The Buying Group offer
We are very pleased to report that 150 people have signed up ordering just over 200kW! As this is well beyond our initial expectations and commitment of doing 50-100, this first buying group is closed as of mid tuesday to further signups. While we have regularly signaled in our newsletters that we might close early, we acknowledge that many people will be disappointed with the news.

You can see the final signup tally at http://localpower.net.au/postcodes.htm and we will be working on seeing which of these we can include, based on number of homes per postcode, clustering with nearby postcodes, negotiating with our installers etc.

Thanks for your support and helping us make the buying group a success! For those who have signed up, please make sure you have sent your deposit payment and all the supporting documents asap as required in Step 3 & 4 of the process. This includes signed terms and conditions, photocopies of recent rates notice showing owner, both sides of drivers license and both sides of electricity bill. We can’t do your inspection or clustering postcodes until these things are in order.

Meanwhile inspections of roofs, breakers, meter boxes, location for inverters etc. have begun and that process alone will keep us very busy until the end of the month. For those postcodes with enough people, or those we can cluster together, we will be in touch to sort out a time to come and inspect, and we will need the home owner to be present to sign the PVRP rebates “pre-approval” form. The willingness of the homeowner to be available when we are in the area doing other inspections is critical. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us make this process run smoothly.

Depending on how this first buying group process goes (it’s a huge task), we will consider doing more, to cater for people who weren’t ready this time, or whose postcodes didn’t have any signups this time around. If you stay on our email list, you will be notified of our future plans.

Local Power was very fortunate to be featured on Channel 10 News on Tuesday night, which has generated quite a few calls and emails. Please be patient until we can catch up.
